ALARD ELECTRICAL EXPANDS TEGG SERVICE OPERATIONS IN NORTH WEST Managing Director, Graham Cooper has announced that Alard Electrical Ltd has Invested in a second TEGG Service franchise in the North West despite the current economic climate.

It was an easier decision this time around says Graham Cooper. The Bredbury based electrical contractor was one of the first companies to be awarded the TEGG Service franchise in 2005 whenTEGG Service was unknown in the UK. Whilst we could see both the client and technical benefits of TEGG Service we were not really sure if it would take off…five years on and the positive feedback from our clients show we needn’t have worried.

Businesses really like the fact that TEGG Service requires the electrical distribution equipment to be live and working under load to effectively diagnose any problems.

Modern businesses find it difficult to shut down office stations or production areas to allow fixed wire testing to take place. This usually results in out of hours or weekend working that only serves to increase costs without adding value. In reality, many businesses have areas where limitations are recorded but never undergo the testing they require.

There has also been increasing pressure from insurance companies for businesses to carry out meaningful electrical testing and a concern whether BS7671:2001 16th Edition was being met due to a notable increase in electrical fires.
